Cyclists commuting to George Brown College’s St. James and Waterfront campuses will soon have a quicker route to get to classes. The City of Toronto is extending bike lanes along Richmond and Adelaide streets, with plans to open the lanes sometime next month.

The work on Richmond Street is essentially complete and the Adelaide lanes should be in place within a few weeks, according to the city.

The extension will see cycle tracks on Richmond Street from Parliament Street to York Street, and on Adelaide Street from Simcoe Street to Parliament Street.

Work began on the extension in early September as part of a pilot project to improve cycling infrastructure and enhance safety for road users in downtown Toronto.
